Shadow seam profile

Shadow seam profile

Shadow seam profile
The shadow seam profile is a new design element in modern architecture. The profile is used to create a special connection of the suspended drywall ceiling to the partition or monolithic wall. Such a connection allows for the creation of a joint that prevents the formation of cracks between the wall and the ceiling.
The shadow seam allows for the creation of a "floating ceiling" effect due to the special configuration of the shadow profile, as well as the LED backlighting that can be installed along with the profile around the perimeter of the room. A visual effect is created that the suspended ceiling seems to "float" above the entire room.

Advantages
  • Quick installation. Time saving.
  • The cost of the shadow seam is lower than the cost of creating a shadow seam from simple angles.
  • A smooth shadow seam along the entire length of the room's perimeter.
  • Allows you to forgo framings and ceiling dieings.
  • No cracks between the wall and the suspended ceiling.
  • The possibility of installing LED strip lights.
Installation:
  • A perfectly straight horizontal line is applied to the walls (it's better to use a laser level for this).
  • An aluminum shadow joint profile is fixed around the entire perimeter of the room. To improve the sound insulation properties of the suspended ceiling, sealing tape should be glued to the profile.
  • We attach the profile to the wall using a hammer-in anchor with a mushroom-shaped head.
  • Gaps between the profiles of the shadow seam are not acceptable.
  • To form an external or internal corner, it is necessary to first measure the parameters of this corner.

Only after this can the shadow seam profile be trimmed at a specific angle. Thus, we avoid unnecessary gaps between the profiles at the corners.
